Tis the season for ghosts, goblins, witches and other critters that go bump in the night. If you’re planning a visit to our hotel in Regina around Halloween, be sure to pack your best costume and check out these spooky events suitable for both little terrors and older zombies:
1. Feel the Horror
Enter Regina’s longest running haunted attraction, if you dare. Designed by Saskatchewan’s very own maestro of the macabre, Al Benesocky’s Shock House, located at 1230 Broad St., is open most nights Oct. 12-31. Not recommended for children under 11, admission is $20 at the door or purchase a $30 speed pass that gets you much closer to the front of the line.
2. Hear the Walls Talk
Learn about the Howie, the chef, and other free spirits that are said to wander the halls at Government House. This popular Regina tourism event features an interactive tour Oct. 25 between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., where you can hear about the suspicious activities and other ghostly occurrences that have been witnessed by staff at the historic Victorian estate at 4607 Dewdney Ave. Government House also hosts the Bump in the Night family friendly evening, with tours, activities and games for all ages, Oct. 30 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
3. Get Goosebumps at the Library
The Regina Public Library is hosting kid-friendly Halloween-themed games, crafts story times and more at its different branches. Check here for the closest library branch near your Regina hotel.
4. Howl Along to Some Early-Aught Rock
The Stone Temple Pilots and Seether along with special guests Default and Age of Days are playing for the 104.9 The Wolf Halloween Howl at the Brandt Centre at Evraz Place on Halloween night. Make a night out of it by staying at one of the best Regina hotels near Evraz Place and enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast buffet the next morning.
5. Trick or Treat at the Mall
Keep the kids safe and warm by taking them to Northgate Mall, for some trick or treating on Halloween from 1 to 3 p.m. Kids can fill their loot bags from participating stores (look for the balloons in front) at this free event. Just a five-minute drive away, your kids can work off all that sugar at our Regina hotel with a waterslide and pool.
6. Kick up your Halloween Heels
Don your best maritime or pirate gear and dance the night away at Bushwakker Brewpub’s annual Halloween party, Oct. 27. You can win a $100 Bushwakker gift card for best costume.
