1. EX Marks the Spot
You don’t have to travel far to take part in one of the events of summer. Regina’s annual fair, The Queen City Ex takes place this year from Aug. 1 to 5 at Evraz Place. Enjoy five days of indoor and outdoor attractions including rides, shows, food, live music, music, shopping and much more.
2. For the Foodies
Situated in the breadbasket of Canada not far from our accommodations is the Regina Farmers Market. Meet the farmers, sample, and purchase fresh produce and artisan products every Wednesday and Saturday through August from 9 a.m. to 1 p. m. at City Square Plaza in downtown Regina.
3. Please the Folk
Book your hotel and get in the action at the Regina Folk Festival, Aug. 10-12 at Victoria Park. This three-day event is jam-packed with performances by famed artists such as Bruce Cockburn, Walk off the Earth, Shakey Graves, Neko Case, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Tanya Tagaq and many others. Enjoy an arts market, food court, children’s area, and beer garden. Individual and weekend tickets are available. Children 12 and under are free.
4. Hear Words Waxed
The Saskatchewan Writers Guild present an evening of outdoor reading performances by local authors at Victoria Park evening week on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. until Aug. 23.
5. Make it a Film Week
Spend some time indoors to watch more than 100 Canadian and international films at the Regina International Film Festival and Awards, Aug. 14-18 at the Cineplex Odeon Southland Mall Cinemas. Rub elbows with filmmakers, actors and supporters at the opening reception, Aug. 14 at the Casino Regina Show Lounge, while the awards Ceremony, Aug. 18, also at the show lounge, will celebrate excellence in multiple categories of film worldwide.
6. Catch a Game
